Interior Residential Painting
There are many different types of projects that can be classified under interior painting, but the majority of the time it refers to painting trim, walls and ceilings. Tulsa Home Renovators usually follows the same rules as we do with kitchen and bath cabinets. Most of our customers prefer white or off-white trim as their color preference. We typically recommend that all trim (window sill, door jams, doors, baseboards and crown molding) match the existing color and sheen of cabinets. This creates a uniform look that allows customers to customize wall and ceiling colors for every room in their house.
The current design trend is to paint walls using gray tones. Tulsa Home Renovators is proud to partner with Spectrum Paint and Sherwin Williams, both of which offer numerous color choices. The amount of traffic each area/room receives often determines the sheen used. For higher traffic, we recommend a higher sheen (eggshell or satin). For customers who do not have a lot of traffic or prefer to not have a sheen, we recommend a flat or matte finish.
Interior ceilings can be painted the same color as the walls or can be painted a different color (usually white). If a customer wants to use the same color on the walls and ceiling, we recommend using a lighter color with a low sheen. The last combination you want is dark colors and high sheen used in the same room.
We recommend that potential customers talk with Spectrum Paint or Sherwin Williams to look at different color options.
