Exterior Residential Painting
Painting the exterior of your home can bring great curb appeal, whether you plan to stay in your home for many years or desire to sell your home.
Here are some of the questions we are most often asked by customers:
“What sheen should I use for the exterior of our home?”
We believe that ALL homes should be painted with a satin finish for several reasons. First, the satin finish will hold up better over time, especially in Oklahoma. With constant weather changes in our state, it is important to have a higher sheen (satin), but not have too high of a sheen that gives off a reflection from your home (semi- or high gloss).
“What type of paint do you use?”
For all residential customers, we recommend using Ryno Cryl Supreme, which is sold at Spectrum Paint. We have looked at different suppliers both nationally and locally and believe that Ryno Cryl Supreme offers our customers the best overall value. We do, however, allow customers to select another paint if they prefer and are more comfortable with it.
“Do you power wash the exterior of my home prior to painting?”
No. We typically only recommend power washing when there is evidence of growth and/or mold on the exterior of your home. Power washing can be added to the services we provide homeowners, even though we do not usually recommend it. We have found that by properly scraping loose paint and areas that might be susceptible to future problems, we can drastically eliminate future
“Will I pay more if I use several paint colors?”
Yes. With all of our painting services (cabinets, interior and exterior) the more colors selected by the homeowner the higher the cost. This increase in cost covers the additional paint needed to be purchased as well as the additional labor involved in making a color change.
